Feedback wanted......

This past Lord's Day I spent the evening at my friends the Es, along with a couple brothers, and some other church friends. As we all sat around talking, once the children were in bed, Mr. E brought up a question, which went around the room in a circle and led to a very interesting conversation.

The question - "What do you think our young people need most, besides salvation?" (which of course is the obvious first answer.)

It was interesting to hear all the different answers! They ranged from a better work ethic, to respect for authority, to wanting guys to be more masculine, the foolishness of dating, a desire for selflessness, submission, to give up the idea that being "cool" is the most important thing, that being an adult is NOT freedom to do whatever you want, realizing how little they really do know, etc. Two of us had the same answer, which was more love for God. The reasoning was that if a young person truly loves God, and wants to please Him, the other things will follow. If you are wondering, the last was my answer.......but I did agree with the others answers too.

So what do you think young people need?

"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
Isaiah 55:6,8-1
