Thoughts from a sermon....

Yesterday morning at family worship Jenny asked all of us what stood out in the Lord's day afternoon sermon, what we got out of it. Here is my belated answer; I really liked these thoughts though I may not have typed them out perfectly as I was trying to remember it all. You can find the rest of the sermon posted in my daybook on Monday.

"This is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation."

~Isaiah 25:9

"...Our joy is centered in our acquaintance with Him -- we are to delight in our Heavenly Husband above all others. We are to delight in Him, He is the one who is tender, He is the one who is perfectly wise, He is the one who is incessantly loving, He is the one who is always faithful. He provides for us, He protects us, He pities us. This is our delight -- this is cause for us to delight in Him.
What a glorious Saviour; there are limitless causes for rejoicing in Him - we never run out of reasons to rejoice - this is our God!"

"For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called."
Isaiah 54:5

Intense Debate Comments

"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
Isaiah 55:6,8-1
