I was encouraged by this blog post I read today. Here is part of it.....

A n intriguing story in the Old Testament recounts the life of a young orphaned girl named Hadassah. Initially chosen to become the Queen of Persia because of her beauty, a perspective of this calling offered by her cousin Mordecai also bears wisdom for us. He said,

"For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
Esther 4:14

Queen Esther's brave reply, with her own life on the line, bore the fruit of life for her Jewish brothers and sisters.

"...so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish."
Esther 4:16

If I perish, I perish. This resolve and commitment is required of us, sometimes, too. Actually, it's something Jesus talked about as a requirement for discipleship.........

....God was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the fiery furnace, and He was with Queen Esther when she resolved to not keep silent, He is with me as I seek to obey His word, and He is with you. You are not forgotten by God, and a message God gave the prophet Jeremiah bears truth for us today.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you."
Jeremiah 1;5

He chose our parents. He chose the family in which to place us. He loves our fathers and mothers. He loves each of your brothers and sisters. They may consider you the lost sheep of the fold, but even if so, remember that it was the lost sheep the Shepherd sought.
Consider that in His perfect love and will, God placed you in your family's life for such a time as this. God knew you in your mother's womb; who better than you to love and pray for the family to which you were born? Let us continue to love, forgive, show the grace we have received.
Prayer is a ministry. Love is a calling with rich reward:

"Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
  ~ Matthew 5:43-48

When you are cast out and rejected, even emotionally if not physically, your ministry is not in vain. Don't waste your pain. Continue to beseech the face of God on behalf of your family. Continue to live in humility and obedience, walking in the Spirit in grace and truth. Lay at His feet the hurts and the wounds and the broken pieces. Trust the one who justifies the ungodly, who has called you with a heavenly calling, and dare to focus not on your sin, but on the Forgiver of your sin!  Have the courage of Queen Esther who was once little orphaned Hadassah. Take comfort that He who raised Jesus from the dead can also bring life and restoration and victory is already won; death is defeated and He is your shield and defense and your very present help in trouble and sorrow and suffering.
"The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up."
Matthew 4;16

"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
Isaiah 55:6,8-1
