God's Will

I need this reminder today -

Accept God's will daily.

Padlock God's will is the lock of the night and the key of the morning; we should open and shut our eyes with the thought of placing our lives in His hands. All resistance to suffering stems from the root of distrust; and unbelieving heart stands on a promise the way a man walks on ice - awkwardly and fearfully at first, wondering if it will crack. Now this daily resignation will bring you into a oneness with God's power, faithfulness and goodness - and will let you experience the reality of His promises, so that you may rely on them in the future.

Each morning then, entrust your whole heart, and all your ways into God's hand. "The poor commiteth himself to Thee; Thou art the helper of the fatherless." Psalm 10:14. And every evening, look back and see how perfectly God has kept you in that trust. Do not fall asleep until you have opened your heart to be flooded with His faithfulness - and purpose to trust Him to take care of you through the coming night. Then if you do experience disappointment, watch for God to fill that emptiness. And again, do not rest until God's name has been fully vindicated in your heart. It is important not to let any dissatisfaction slip into your spirit because of His sovereign decision on your behalf. Instead keep a close reign on your thoughts the way David did: "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God." Psalm 42:11. Once you have done this, God's blessing will keep your faith "in breath" and increase your stamina for a longer race when it is time for you to run it."

Intense Debate Comments

"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
Isaiah 55:6,8-1
