"Our light affliction....

Yesterday at family worship we talked about these verses from 2 Corinthians 4:

"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."

which reminded me of this video I shared on facebook awhile back. Seeing all these martyrs give up everything for Christ will get you thinking - at least it got me thinking that we really do have a lot to be thankful for.

By the way yesterday was the first day of school and it went well as we all began getting used to the new schedule, etc. I'm glad the Lord has given me a family to help and children to work with now when I don't have a family of my own, and I was also glad at the end of a very busy day to crash with a move and glass of wine:-) It's been awhile since Jenny and I have had a movie night so it was good to get to relax together. I hope everyone has a good day!

"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
Isaiah 55:6,8-1
