Giving thanks continued...

More fall leaves...
Today I'm thankful for when God gives me a fun and productive day, for beautiful fall colors, for Goodwill stores, for my sewing machine....

Yesterday was a day off for me and I decided to spend the morning running errands. While out and about, I ran into Goodwill (I love thrift stores:-) since I hadn't been in there for ages. It was a good trip! I found two pretty white lace pillows for my bed that look great with my new quilt, something that I'd been on the lookout for, and a white lamp to go with the pretty blue and white lampshade my sister in law, Adri had given me. Then on the dollar rack I found the prettiest dark brown polka dot vintage looking dress, lots of pretty detail on the bodice, with ties in the back, BUT, it was very short and I don't wear short skirts/dresses.....anyways I didn't want to pass it up so I took it home (ok, I paid for it first:-) cut off part of the skirt and hemmed it to make a blouse. I love the style of blouses that are a bit longer and tie in the back, but I don't know what they are called. I even have enough fabric left to sew a headband!

The dress that became a blouse.

The lamp on my nightstand. Thanks Adri - I love it:-)

The pillows I found - and yes, I washed them before putting them on my bed!

When I finished shopping I went to visit some friends - I said it was a fun day - we talked, Kara taught me how to crochet a shabby chic rug out of old sheets (it was pretty, I want to make one sometime!) and we had lunch. Then it was time to go home do laundry, and housework, and some sewing.

I'm also thankful because in less than two weeks I'm taking the train to Virginia and am going to spend a week visiting friends and family - I can't wait!

Train approaching!

Intense Debate Comments

"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
Isaiah 55:6,8-1
